TEHRAN- The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the crimes of the Israeli regime's army in response to reports of the torture of Palestinian prisoners.

Nasser Kanaani stated in his official account on the X platform, “A Washington Post report on July 29, 2024, revealed medieval torture of Palestinians at the Zionist regime's prisons, which is just the tip of the iceberg.”

“The leaks about some torture techniques and crimes at a prison inside Sadieh Timan base in Negev desert, 30 kilometers from the Gaza Strip near the city of Be’er Sheva, indicate that the Zionist regime has set a new record in comparison to the notorious US-run prisons of Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib,” he added.

Following Hamas's attack on the occupied territories on October 7, 2023, the United Nations Human Rights Council received multiple reports of the torture of Palestinian prisoners being tortured by the Israeli regime’s army. The Council condemned these actions in its official statements.
