Yemeni air defenses have shot down another US MQ-9 Reaper drone over Yemeni airspace, amid escalated tensions with the Israeli regime.

The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces Yahya Saree said the country’s air defense units had successfully shot down the American drone while it was conducting hostile activities in the airspace over the Yemeni province of Saada.

Saree said in a televised statement on Sunday that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was targeted with a locally made surface-to-air missile, Press TV reported. 

According to Saree, this is the seventh aircraft of this kind that the Yemeni air defenses have shot down since the start of the operations in support of the defenseless Palestinian people trapped in the Gaza Strip.
