‘From Lut to Ararat’: cyclists embark on tourism mission to Armenia

TEHRAN – Some motorcyclists from Kerman have set off on a 12-day journey to Armenia, symbolically riding “from Lut to Ararat” to promote tourism and cultural ties between the two regions.

“Six professional cyclists, all members of Kerman’s adventurous tourism and motorcycling club, started their ride on Wednesday,” said a local official in charge of tourism, adding that the riders serve as tourism ambassadors.

The cross-border tour is arranged to showcase Kerman’s rich tourism marvels on a global stage, Moein Afzali further brought to light.

Afzali elaborated that the motorcyclists also carry a message from the people of Kerman to the citizens of Armenia, which states: “We, people of the ancient land of Kerman, came to you with a message filled with peace and friendship. Kerman, the land of four seasons in Iran, the city of pistachios, dates, pomegranates, and cumin, with its ancient civilization from the city of Jiroft to the vast pistachio orchards, welcomes you warmly and with open arms.”

Kerman province, located in southeastern Iran, boasts a rich tapestry of historical sites, natural wonders and cultural treasures, making it a compelling destination for travelers seeking diverse experiences.
