TEHRAN- The Saeidi Brothers, a traditional Iranian duo consisting of Ali and Mohammad Saeidi, have recently launched a new musical piece inspired by the melodies of Iranian passion play Shabih-khani. 

Titled “Del Bedon-e To” (Heart Without You), the song features lyrics written by Ebrahim Esmaeili Arazi, with the arrangement crafted by Milad Baiza, who also took care of the mixing and mastering.

Known for their unique interpretation of Isfahani folk music, the twin brothers often incorporate traditional Iranian instruments into their performances. They have collaborated with renowned musicians like maestro Farhad Fakhreddini, solidifying their place in Iran's vibrant music scene.

Shabih-khani is similar to tazieh. Tazieh represents religious events, historical and mythical stories and folk tales. Each performance has the four components of poetry, music, song and motion.

However, stories about the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions against the oppressive Umayyad dynasty in 680 CE are more highly regarded by tazieh troupes and audiences.

Shabih-khani, however, mostly includes events, happenings, and issues that emphasize joyful aspects much more than their sad counterparts.
