TEHRAN PAPERS

A vain hope for the fake opposition

July 26, 2024 - 20:12

TEHRAN - In a note, the Iran newspaper addressed the shutting down of the Hamburg Islamic Center by the German government and wrote: The reason for Germany's recent action should be found in the good relations between the government of this country and anti-Iranian groups.

The request to close the Hamburg Islamic Center is also one of the clauses of the 22-point plan of the parties of the German coalition government against Iran, a plan that was formulated in 2022 under the pretext of "defending human rights" and specifically to support rioters and continue unrest in Iran. Germany is one of the Western countries where the lobby of the Zionist regime and some opposition groups are active. During the riots of 2022, with the efforts of these groups, in addition to interfering in the internal affairs of our country, the German government, along with America, England, and France, supported the sabotage aganist the Islamic Republic of Iran. The German government accused the Hamburg Islamic Center of radicalistic activities (terrorism), but this government has been one of the main supporters of the Zionist regime as a terrorist regime in Europe.

Donya-e-Eqtesad: Immediate negotiations between the U.S. and Iran?

In a commentary, Donya-e-Eqtesad dealt with Foreign Policy magazine's request to the Biden government for immediate negotiations with Iran. The paper said: According to Foreign Policy, the victory of Masoud Pezeshkian in the recent Iranian elections may create an opportunity for an urgent issue: The common interests of Washington and Tehran in preventing a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Until now, the main efforts of the West to reduce the tension have been along the border between Israel and Lebanon. Washington has an opportunity to be more effective in achieving vital U.S. interests. It means preventing this country and its army from being involved in another war in the Middle East. In fact, the Biden government should talk directly with the main supporter of Hezbollah, that is, Tehran. Successful negotiations with the new government of Pezeshkian in Lebanon could help create better conditions for nuclear diplomacy in the future. No one really knows to what extent Pezeshkian will be able to fulfill his election promises regarding direct negotiations between Iran and the United States. But if Biden does not realize this, especially with this level of risk, he has acted irresponsibly.

Shargh: Modern global diplomacy and Iran's national interests

In an article, Shargh discussed the current situation of the world and said: The strategy of big wars is declining. The conflict in Ukraine brought the fire of war to the borders of the European Union and unintentionally involved Europe in a continental war. Geographical distance made the United States very cautious to participate in the conflict in Ukraine. The war in Ukraine slowed down the strategy of the U.S. view of the Far East, and this means that the U.S. is more distant from the conflict in Ukraine. Europe will have to follow America's business diplomacy. The future strategy of the U.S. is to avoid military tension and compensate for its lost geopolitical opportunities against China, and it requires a transformation of the U.S. strategy. With the political transformation in America, business diplomacy will expand in the world. The feature of this diplomacy is to avoid tension. Iran's national interests cannot be separated from this global trend. Iran's geostrategic measures should be in line with regional and global de-escalation. This is an inevitable path in the world's future diplomacy.

Hamshahri: A plan for getting privilege

In an analysis, Hamshahri discussed the report of the American publication Project Syndicate and wrote: According to this publication, the new president of Iran can make a decisive change in the ballot box in favor of the Democrats and greatly reduce the risk of escalation of the nuclear war between Israel and Iran. First of all, it should be said that Democrats are not better than the Republicans in war-mongering and crime, extensive sanctions, sabotage, and terror. Secondly, if the Biden government had a serious difference from the Trump government, it could have returned to the JCPOA four years ago with a single signature. The analysis of this American publication summarizes that Mr. Pezeshkian should ignore Iran's rights and give privileges to the Biden government so that he can win the American elections. This means that the role of Iran's trampled rights and the privileges that the Biden government should give will not be clear. Biden cannot give Iran privileges on the eve of the election and be blamed by Trump; he just has to get privileges!
