Tehran Theater Festival receives over 350 submissions
TEHRAN- The 29th edition of Tehran Theater Festival has received 361 works from theater groups across the province.
According to the festival's secretariat 134 works have been submitted to the competition section, 35 to the stage section, 37 to the comedy and satire section, 24 to the youth section, 36 to the street theater section, and 40 to the children and youth section. Additionally, 55 plays have been submitted to the playwriting competition.
The festival's schedule shows that productions by theater groups must be completed by August 21.
The majority of submissions come from urban areas, with Shahriar and Eslamshahr groups submitting 22 works each. The fewest submissions came from Pishva groups with four works.
The selection committee will begin evaluating works in September and will review productions in various sections and select the best works.
The festival’s organizers will also hold some educational workshops on the sidelines of the event.
The 29th Tehran Theater Festival will be held from October 30 to November 6 under the direction of Amir Hossein Shafiei.
