TEHRAN- The spokesperson for the Judiciary provided explanations regarding the latest status of cases relating to internal and external affairs.

According to Fars News, Asghar Jahangir, the spokesperson for the Judiciary, shared information about the details of the cases in the judicial system. In response to the crimes of the Zionist regime in the occupied territories of Gaza, Jahangir emphasized the necessity of coordination among judicial bodies to protect the rights of the people of Gaza. He also condemned the airstrikes of the Zionist regime on civilian centers in Gaza, urging Islamic countries to actively support the people of Gaza through diplomacy and to pursue the crimes of the Zionist regime.

The spokesperson noted, “In the coming days, we will witness the formation of a new government, and Massoud Pezeshkian, the elected president, will introduce his cabinet. To achieve that, all sectors must cooperate comprehensively with the government to solve the fundamental problems of the people, especially livelihood issues, which is one of the strategies the elected president has mentioned in his remarks. The Judiciary, as a collaborator and supporter in combating manifestations of corruption and preventing crimes in the country, stands ready to cooperate with the new government to ensure the effective fulfillment of its duties.”

In response to a question about the latest status of the Dogecoin case, Jahangir stated, “This case, which was formed in 2022 in Qazvin province on charges related to cryptocurrency, had three defendants, two of them were arrested, while the main defendant resides outside the country. Although efforts to bring the main defendant back continue, he is considered a fugitive. Contrary to the claims made in cyberspace, the case has not been closed and is currently under review in the appeals stage.” 

He continued, “As has been repeatedly warned, people should refrain from uncertain and unverified investments because the risks of such investments are high.”

As regards the Debsh tea case, the Judiciary spokesperson stated, “The former Minister of Agriculture has not been convicted in the financial corruption case of Debsh tea but has been summoned to court for examination of his charges.” 

The financial corruption of Debsh tea is a case of embezzlement related to the previous government, where 3.6 billion dollars allocated for tea imports has not been returned to the government's treasury. The financial aspects of this case are being investigated by Iran's General Inspection Organization.

Regarding the latest status of the Kourosh company case, Jahangir stated, “About 7,000 people have filed complaints in this case, and it is currently being handled in District 5 of the Tehran Prosecutor's office. Assets belonging to the accused have been identified and seized in Isfahan, Kish, and the UAE.” 

The Kourosh company case became public in February 2024 due to advertisements for selling iPhones priced at 200 million Rials below global market prices and a financial corruption of 200 trillion Rials. Amir Hossein Sharifian, the manager of this company and the accused in this case, is currently living outside Iran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Judiciary are pursuing efforts to bring him back to Iran.

The follow-up on the return of two Iranian prisoners in Iraq and Saudi Arabia was another focus of the statements made by the spokesperson of the Judiciary. Jahangir announced, “In coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we have submitted an official request for the release and return of two Iranian prisoners from neighboring countries.”

Mohammad Reza Noori was arrested and imprisoned in March 2023 on charges of attempting a terrorist act against American soldiers present in Iraq by the Iraqi Intelligence Agency. Similarly, Mohammad Khazaei was also arrested and imprisoned by the Saudi Arabian Intelligence Agency on charges of media activities against the Zionist regime during this year's Hajj ceremony.

Regarding the case of the assassination of Martyr Soleimani, Jahangir explained, “In the criminal section of this case, after the issuance of an indictment against 73 defendants, including the then President of the United States Donald Trump and the then Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. A case file was formed along with other members of the Centcom Force, and legal documents were completed in over 12,000 pages. The indictment has been issued, and the case will be on the agenda of the Iranian criminal court on September 7, 2024.”

Brigadier General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps Quds Force, was attacked by a U.S. military drone on January 3, 2020, while exiting Baghdad International Airport, following an order from then-President Donald Trump. Among the consequences of his martyrdom was the IRGC attack on Ain al-Asad airbase, which occurred under the slogan Severe Revenge.
