TEHRAN – Members of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) Transportation Committee have explored a new model of private-public cooperation in transportation projects.

Examining the "public-private partnership model in the transportation sector" was the order of the 18th meeting of the TCCIMA Transportation Committee which was held in Tehran on Sunday, the TCCIMA portal reported.

In this meeting, while pointing to the successful experiences of this type of cooperation in different countries, the issue of mistrust between the government and the private sector was raised as one of the challenges of implementing this model in Iran.

Another important point that was mentioned in this meeting was that with the management changes at the top level, the new authorities are not going to stick to their obligations. Also, with the suspension of the public-private partnership bill, there is no codified law in this area.

TCCIMA economic operators hope that with the change of the government, the public-private partnership model will be given more attention so that part of the government's responsibility in the field of infrastructure development would shoulder by the private sector.
