Iran acts according to safeguards, NPT: AEOI chief
TEHRAN – The spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iranian parliament has emphasized that Iran's approach to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adheres to the safeguards and regulations outlined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
This statement came from the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami.

In one of these sessions, Mohammad Eslami provided a comprehensive report on the AEOI's activities and its initiatives aimed at enhancing the nuclear industry's contributions to Iran's development.
Rezaei highlighted Eslami's explanation regarding the initial steps taken by the AEOI, noting, "The head of the Atomic Energy Organization explained that the first step was to draft a strategic document for atomic energy. This document laid the groundwork for the organization’s progress. Following this, essential institution-building and capacity-building measures were implemented."
Further elaborating, Rezaei stated, "Eslami discussed the Strategic Action Plan to Lift Sanctions, which was passed by the 11th Parliament. He said this legislation empowered the AEOI to advance with greater momentum. Additionally, Eslami provided a report on the exploration of new mines to secure the necessary nuclear fuel for the country, highlighting the activation of new mining sites."
Addressing the domestic production of nuclear fuel, Rezaei cited Eslami's comments on the Bushehr power plant, "According to the head of the AEOI, the debt issue of the Bushehr power plant has been resolved, and its maintenance is now entirely managed domestically."
Emphasizing Iran's framework for cooperation with the IAEA, Rezaei reiterated Eslami's statement, "Eslami stated that the Islamic Republic’s dealings with the IAEA are strictly within the parameters of the Safeguards and NPT agreements. Moreover, several issues with the Agency have been resolved."
Rezaei also mentioned Eslami's insights on the cultural aspects of Iran’s nuclear industry, saying, "Eslami discussed the production of high-quality artistic works related to the nuclear industry, the security of nuclear facilities, and future nuclear policies. He emphasized that the AEOI is planning to move towards generating 20,000 megawatts of nuclear electricity."
