Iran's ambassador holds talks with Turkish deputy minister of Justice

TEHRAN - The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkey engaged in discussions with the deputy minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey to enhance bilateral judicial cooperation.

As reported by IRNA, on Tuesday, Mohammad Hassan Habibullahzadeh, Iran's Ambassador to Turkey, met Khurshid Yildirim, the deputy minister of Justice of Turkey, to address issues such as expediting prisoner transfers, improving the situation of Iranian prisoners, and facilitating the affairs of Iranians residing in Turkey.

The meeting concluded with a verbal agreement to strengthen consular cooperation between Iran and Turkey, emphasizing the need to address the situation of prisoners from both countries. 

In 2021, the Turkish Directorate of Migration announced that 115,000 Iranians were residing in Turkey, having obtained residence through investment, citizenship, education, asylum, and tourism.
