Medical history museum to be established in Lorestan

TEHRAN – A special museum dedicated to medical history will be set up within Shohada-ye Ashayer Hospital, which is located in Khorramabad, the capital of Lorestan province.

Dr. Bahram Delfan, who presides over Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, on Tuesday announced that the Health Museum of this province will soon be established at Shohada-ye Ashayer Hospital, CHTN reported.

He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the Clinical Skills Center of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, saying: “This museum will be set up in the old building of the Clinical Skills Center (located within Shohada-ye Ashayer Hospital).”

He said every field of science has a brilliant history that is very important to understand. “In this regard, historical medical equipment and the evolutionary process of these devices will be on display at the museum.”

He mentioned that medical equipment has been in use in this province for approximately 70 years, which will be showcased for students and faculty members.

A museum of medical history serves as a fascinating window into the evolution of medical science and technology. For museum-goers, it offers a unique opportunity to witness the remarkable advancements in healthcare that have shaped modern medicine. Exhibits often include historical medical instruments, early surgical tools, antique pharmaceutical equipment, and detailed displays of past medical practices.
