“The Last Temptation” to represent Iran at LA Shorts International Film Festival

TEHRAN-The Iranian short film “The Last Temptation” written and directed by Ali Saadatmand will be shown in the On-Demand section of the 28th LA Shorts International Film Festival, to be held in Los Angeles, California, from July 17 to 28.

A production of 2024, the 19-minute drama is the only film from Iran among the 36 movies in the lineup, ILNA reported.

The other competitors in the section are from the U.S., the UK, India, Germany, Australia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Denmark, Mexico, China, Croatia, Jordan, Italy, and Japan.

In “The Last Temptation,” a man finds himself trapped in the world of Faust, where he must confront his deepest nightmares and desires. He meets the devil and a pale girl in this world, and to set the girl free, he must make a choice and sacrifice.

The cast includes Alireza Nikkhah, Mojtaba Shafiee, and Yeganeh Mohammadi.

LA Shorts International Film Festival ranks among the most prestigious and largest international short film festivals in the world.

It is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences OSCAR, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts BAFTA, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT), the Canadian Screen Awards, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain (Goya Awards).

Now in its 28th year, LA Shorts is the longest-running short film festival in Los Angeles. The festival screens over 350 films and attracts over 10,000 attendees each year including Hollywood industry professionals and emerging independent filmmakers.

The film programming screens all genres from a wide spectrum of categories with high to low-budget films 40 minutes or under.
