TEHRAN- A Persian translation of British children's literature author Hannah Gold’s “The Last Bear” has recently been published by Milkan Publications in Tehran.
The book has been translated into Persian by Amin Purhassan.
"The Last Bear" is a heartwarming and moving story about a young girl named April who goes on a journey to a remote Arctic island with her father for six months of scientific research. However, when she arrives, she discovers that the island is not as barren as she expected, and she meets a starving and lonely polar bear who has wandered away from its family. Despite the danger and isolation, April forms a strong bond with the bear and becomes determined to save it.
As April cares for the bear in secret, she realizes that it is a symbol of the devastating impact of global warming on the Arctic ecosystem. She sees firsthand the effects of climate change and feels frustrated and powerless to stop it. However, she decides to take matters into her own hands and embarks on a quest to get the bear to safety, facing many challenges along the way.
Throughout her journey, April learns valuable lessons about courage, perseverance, and the importance of taking small actions to make a big difference. Her story is not only a powerful exploration of environmental themes but also a celebration of the special connection between children and the natural world. The author beautifully evokes the Arctic setting and captures the magic of April's friendship with the bear, highlighting the deep instinct that exists between children and nature.
The story is also a powerful reminder that even small actions can make a big difference, and that children have the power to effect change. April's story will inspire young readers to take action and make a positive impact on the planet's future. With its gentle message of hope and empowerment, "The Last Bear" is a must-read for children who care about climate change and want to make a difference.
