TEHRAN- Iranian director Hamed Sheikhi plans to stage his play "Story of Khosrow for Shahrazad" in Istanbul, Turkey on June 29 and 30. 

After a successful run in Armenia, the play will make its way to Istanbul, where it will be performed in both Persian and Turkish, Mehr reported on Sunday. 

The play will be shown at the Sanatifyaklasimlar Theater on June 29 at 8pm and at the Mask_kara Tiyatrosu Theater on June 30 at 7pm.

The cast includes Hamed Sheikhhi, Zhila Ghanjeh, Ali Pilevar, Yasaman Fazel Hashemi, Yasaman Tahbaz, Ghazal Baharestani, Bita Jabbary, Maral Abolqasemi, Elnaz Reza, and Mehdi Honarsazan.

This production is the 18th play by Hamed Sheikhi and the 27th production of the Tandis artistic group. The play will also be performed in Tehran in the near future.

Shahrzad is the protagonist of the ancient Persian tale, "One Thousand and One Nights". She is a beautiful and clever princess who has been forced to marry the ruthless King Shahryar, who has taken to marrying and then executing a new wife each night, believing that no woman can resist his charms. Shahrzad, determined to avenge her younger sister's death at the king's hands, decides to take on the role of his latest bride.

At first, Shahrzad's cleverness and wit serve her well as she tells a different story each night to stall for time, preventing the king from taking her life. Her stories are full of magic, adventure, and romance, and they captivate the king's imagination. As the nights pass, Shahrzad's stories become more and more elaborate, and the king becomes more and more entranced. But beneath her words, Shahrzad's true intentions remain hidden, as she works tirelessly to unravel the mystery of her husband's dark past and bring him to justice.

Khosrow is a prince of ancient Persia, known for his bravery and chivalry. He is the hero of many stories and poems in Persian literature, including the epic poem "Shahnameh" by Ferdowsi. According to legend, Khosrow was a just and fair ruler who loved his people dearly. He was also a skilled warrior and hunter, feared by his enemies and respected by his allies.

Khosrow's story is one of triumph and tragedy. He faces many challenges throughout his life, including battles with foreign invaders and rebellious nobles. Despite these challenges, he remains steadfast in his commitment to justice and honor. His greatest love is for Shirin, a beautiful princess who becomes his queen. Together, they have children and rule Persia wisely. However, their happiness is short-lived, as Khosrow's life is cut short by the treachery of one of his own nobles. Despite this tragic end, Khosrow remains an iconic figure in Persian literature and culture, symbolizing courage, honor, and loyalty.
