Army commander stresses enhanced electoral engagement for national progress
TEHRAN – The chief commander of the Iranian Army has underscored the pivotal role of increased participation in elections in bolstering the nation's strength, power, authority, and overall progress.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi made the remarks during a Saturday ceremony attended by high-ranking military officials and commanders, marking the fourth anniversary of the Leader's awarding of the flag and badge of selflessness to the Army and commemorating 1184 martyred graduates of Imam Ali Officers' University in Tehran.
"The Leader's decision to award the flag and badge of selflessness to this university resonates deeply. Selflessness transcends mere sacrifice of life; it encompasses valorous acts for cherished values, enduring hardships under oppressive regimes, and earning the esteemed title of veterans," he asserted.
Further elaborating, Mousavi acknowledged the contributions of commanders and individuals who, through their knowledge, experience, and unwavering dedication, uphold the principles of victory and sacrifice. "They bear the proud badge of selflessness," he remarked, affirming their pivotal role in the nation's defense and prosperity.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed military figures, including Major General Kioumars Ahmadi, Commander of the Ground Forces, Major General Mohammad Mahmoudi, Executive Deputy of the Army, alongside commanders representing the Air and Navy Forces of the Army.
