TEHRAN— Mojtaba Zolnouri, a parliament member representing Qom, has praised the Iranian people's awareness at this critical juncture, expressing optimism that the June 28 election will see a significantly higher voter turnout than previous elections.

Zolnouri emphasized that the Iranian people are poised to create a new historic moment for the Islamic Revolution, adding another chapter to their 40 years of honorable history.

Addressing the state of the nation following the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage on May 19, Zolnouri remarked that the Islamic Revolution has endured numerous challenges since its victory, successfully navigating through each crisis.

He assured that the Islamic Republic remains resilient, rooted deeply in the hearts of the people, and will overcome any adversity by the grace of God.

He also highlighted the massive turnout at the funeral ceremony for the late president as evidence of the nation's unity and strength.

Zolnouri underscored the critical importance of a high voter turnout in the upcoming presidential election. He noted that the Iranian people have demonstrated exceptional insight and awareness, often exceeding expectations. He cited instances where, despite challenging conditions, the people have shown remarkable participation, surprising both officials and adversaries alike.

Concluding his remarks, Zolnouri emphasized the essential character of "sincerity" for the next president. He stated that the primary motive of any candidate should be to serve God and the people, rather than seeking power.
