TEHRAN — The Iranian ambassador to Berlin has said the issue of Palestine and al-Quds stand as among the most significant legacies of the late Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Revolution, IRNA reported on Tuesday.

During the late Monday ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the passing of Imam Khomeini attended by representatives from Islamic organizations, families of Iranian diplomats and embassy staff, Ambassador Mahmoud Farazandeh highlighted several key areas, including serving the people, promoting unity, and supporting Palestine, that were of paramount importance to Imam Khomeini.

"Imam Khomeini brought honor to us," Farazandeh stated.

Farazandeh underscored the enduring significance of the Palestinian issue, noting, "One of the most important legacies of the Imam is the issue of Palestine and al-Quds. Today, we witness the importance of this issue more acutely than ever before."

Highlighting the central role that Palestine played in Imam Khomeini’s ideology, the diplomat pointed to Imam Khomeini's profound assertion that "Palestine is not a matter of land, but an issue for the monotheists of the ages, past, present, and future."

The ceremony featured a recitation of the Quran, followed by a summary of Imam Khomeini's biography.

The program also included the reading of poems celebrating Imam Khomeini and his distinctive moral qualities, adding a poignant touch to the event.
