TEHRAN - In a collaborative effort between the security forces of Iran and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, a significant development unfolded with the arrest of a commander associated with a terrorist group.

Saadi Mohammadi, suspected of plotting infiltration into the country and orchestrating assassination schemes targeting internal figures, as well as maintaining ties with terrorist elements within the nation, was apprehended during this joint operation conducted by the security forces of Iran and the Suleimaniyah governorate.

The arrest reflects the shared commitment of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq authorities to disarmament treaties and counterterrorism efforts. It underscores the resolute stance of both Iran and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq against terrorism within the region.

Under the security agreement between Iran and Iraq, the activities of terrorist groups opposing the Islamic Republic of Iran in northern Iraq are to be monitored, and the leaders of these activities are to be expelled from these areas.
