60,000 National Housing Movement units to be delivered to applicants in a week
TEHRAN – Iran’s Transport and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash said 60,000 units of the National Housing Movement have been completed and will be handed over to the applicants in a week.
Bazrpash made the announcement on the sidelines of the 17th meeting of the Supreme Housing Council on Saturday, Mehr News Agency reported.
According to the minister the mentioned units have been completed in Tehran, Yazd and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces.
The official noted that currently, there are more than 2.6 million units of the National Housing Movement under construction across the country.
Back in January, Hossein Jannati, the director-general of the Tehran Transport and Urban Development Department, said that the projects of the National Housing Movement enjoy over 80 percent progress in the province.
He said 3,500 units of the National Housing Movement, which are under construction in the province, enjoy over 80 percent progress at the moment.
Stating that one million applicants from Tehran province have registered in the National Housing Movement Plan, he added that of these, 160,000 people met the four legal conditions and were finally approved.
As announced by the head of the National Land and Housing Organization, 1,000 units of the National Housing Movement have been completed across the country and are ready to be handed over to applicants.
“Our priority at the Ministry of Transport and Urban Development is to accelerate the progress of the National Housing Movement program and we must know that the faster completion of these projects, even for one day, means solving the housing problem for a family,” Arsalan Maleki said on January 1.
The National Housing Movement is one of the major policies of the 13th government in the housing sector, and according to this policy, the construction of four million residential units is planned for four years.
It is one of the projects through which the government is trying to help low-income individuals in society become homeowners.
