TEHRAN – The President of Uzbekistan has arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran to attend the farewell ceremony for President Ebrahim Raisi and Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian who lost their lives during a helicopter crash on Sunday.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev met the late officials multiple times in the past three years. President Raisi visited Uzbekistan in 2022 and 2023 in a bid to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

Nurdinjon Ismoilov, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, also arrived in Tehran as the head of a high-ranking delegation.
