IAF cinematheque to show Thomas Kail’s “Hamilton”

TEHRAN- The Cinematheque of the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) will screen American theatre and television director Thomas Kail’s “Hamilton” on Wednesday.

The screening will be followed by a review session by Iranian theater critics Abbas Ghafari and Aran Qaderpour. 

"Hamilton" is a musical that tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America's most influential founding fathers and first Secretary of the Treasury. The show is a unique blend of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and traditional Broadway music, which brings a fresh and innovative approach to the traditional biography.

The musical is based on the life of Alexander Hamilton, from his arrival in America as a young immigrant to his later years as a key figure in the American Revolution and the early years of the United States. The show explores his personal and professional struggles, including his relationships with Eliza Schuyler, his wife, and Aaron Burr, his rival. The musical features a diverse cast of talented actors, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, who created the show and plays the title role.

The original Broadway production of "Hamilton" was filmed live at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York City, capturing the energy and excitement of the show. The film features the original Broadway cast, including Leslie Odom Jr., Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jonathan Groff, among others. The show's creative team, including Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Alex Lacamoire, have received widespread acclaim for their work on "Hamilton," which has been hailed as a game-changer in the world of musical theater.

Thomas Kail is a renowned American theatre and television director, celebrated for his work on several notable productions.
