Israel’s deterrence collapsed in True Promise Operation: IRGC general

TEHRAN – A spokesman for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Iran's Operation True Promise contributed greatly to the collapse of the Israeli regime's deterrence capability.

Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif made the remarks on Tuesday as he highlighted Iran’s 45-year history of overcoming complex challenges.

On April 13, Iran fired about 300 missiles and drones against military installations in Israel in response to the regime’s deadly attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, on April 1 that martyred seven Iranian military advisors, including two generals.

According to the Vienna Conventions, an attack on a country’s diplomatic premise is considered an attack on that country’s soil.

The Operation True Promise was a timely punitive measure against the Israeli regime's strategic blunder in attacking the Islamic Republic's diplomatic premise in Syria.

The IRGC spokesman said the misjudgments by the Zionists and the decisive response from the Iranian leadership resulted in Operation True Promise.

Additionally, Sharif emphasized Iran’s unwavering resolve and determination in confronting challenges and safeguarding its sovereignty against external threats.

Furthermore, the general underscored the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime against the people of Palestine over the past 75 years, particularly highlighting the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

He also highlighted the international recognition of the righteousness of Iran’s vision, condemning the Israeli regime as a malignant force and expressed gratitude for global support for Palestine.
Israel initiated the Gaza conflict on October 7 in response to a surprise retaliatory operation by Palestinian resistance forces in the occupied territories.

Simultaneously, the regime has imposed a nearly complete blockade on the coastal enclave, severely limiting the supply of essential goods such as food, medicine, electricity, and water to Palestinians.

During the ongoing war, the regime has caused the deaths of approximately 35,233 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, while another 79,141 Palestinians have been injured, according to the reports from Health Ministry in the battered enclave.

“Israeli forces killed 60 people and injured 80 others in five ‘massacres’ against families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry announced on Wednesday.
