Seyed Ammar Hakim, the leader of Iraq's National Wisdom Movement, recently held a meeting with Farshad Mahdipour, deputy press secretary of Iran's Ministry of Guidance. Mahdipour led an Iranian media delegation to Baghdad for the meeting, which took place at the movement's office in the city.
During their discussion, the two leaders delved into the cultural and communication landscape of both countries, exploring opportunities for enhanced cooperation between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Hakim emphasized the importance of sharing experiences in cultural, artistic, and archival realms to foster mutual growth.
Highlighting the significance of cultural collaboration in safeguarding Islamic communities from external influences and promoting positive ideas, Hakim stressed the need for supporting artistic endeavors, film production, television programming, and leveraging modern technologies to reach wider audiences.
In addition to their discussions on cultural cooperation, Iraqi clerics also expressed concerns over the ongoing conflict in Gaza. They called on the international community to take responsibility for addressing the dire situation in Gaza and condemned acts of violence, starvation, and genocide while urging immediate action to end the war.
Mahdipour further met with a delegation from the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission led by Ali Al-Muayad on Friday.
Prior to the meeting, he also engaged with Nassif Al-Khattabi, governor of Karbala, discussing shared cultural heritage and emphasizing the importance of countering negative narratives propagated by external media sources.
