TEHRAN- Egypt has formed a crisis group to monitor the developments following Iran's retaliation to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1.

As reported by Al Qahera News, the crisis group works around the clock, providing regular updates to the Egyptian president on the evolving situation in the region.

"A crisis group... is closely monitoring the situation and submitting reports to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi hour by hour," the channel said, citing a senior security official.

Additionally, Egypt's air defenses are on maximum alert after Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel, Al-Qahera News, a TV channel close to the intelligence services, reported late Saturday.
