Actor Reza Davoudnejad dies at 44

TEHRAN- Young cinema and television actor Reza Davoudnejad passed away in a Shiraz hospital on Monday at the age of 44, due to complications from a blood infection following a liver transplant and after a period of hospitalization. 

Renowned film director Alireza Davouudnejd, his father, had previously announced the hospitalization of this Iranian actor in Shiraz, citing a blood infection as the reason behind his hospitalization, Mehr reported on Tuesday. 

Davoudnejad began his acting career as a child with a role in his father’s movie 'Defenseless' in 1986. His pivotal role in the film "Sweet Agony", directed by Alireza Davoudnejad in 1999, earned him a nomination for best actor at the Fajr Film Festival that year.

Throughout his career, Davoudnejad played roles in various films such as "Quiet Streets" by Kamal Tabrizi, "La Minor" by Dariush Mehrjui, and “Without Her” by Arian Vazirdaftari, in addition to appearing in comedy TV series including "Minoo's Garden" by Reza Safdari, "Life with Laughter Terms" by Mehdi Mazlumi, and "Fugitive Escaped" by Reza Attaran, among others.
