TEHRAN PAPERS

Iran is victorious in the field

March 17, 2024 - 19:39

TEHRAN - In a note, Sobh-e-No discussed the power of Iran this year and said: In the past year, Iran was able to demonstrate its power in regional events and consolidate its strategic victory in West Asia.

The most important of this victory, according to the Western media, is the disruption of the process of normalization. The American newspaper Daily Beast wrote in describing Iran's regional policy: "Iran has shown itself to be stronger than Washington in terms of strategy, and the Israel-Hamas war has only strengthened Iran's geopolitical position. On the other hand, the American intelligence community recently named Iran as a regional power in its annual report, which, along with countries such as China, Russia, and non-governmental actors, challenges the superiority of the United States in this context. The Gaza war is considered a type of "strategic setback" for America and a "strategic victory" for Iran. In such a situation, Iran can advance its goals well in the case of correct diplomacy.

Iran: The recent exchange of messages between Iran and America

In a commentary, the Iran newspaper discussed the recent exchange of messages between Iran and the United States and wrote: The failure of the United States in the battle has occurred with the resistance forces in the Red Sea has forced the American media circles to create atmosphere and reverse the news related to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The American newspaper Financial Times has claimed in a report that two Iranian and American delegations in Muscat have indirectly discussed the developments in the Red Sea. However, an informed source rejected Iran's dialogue with America about the Red Sea and considered it part of America's strategy to compensate for its failure in the diplomatic arena, and the exchange of messages and indirect conversations is only limited to the framework of the sanctions lifting negotiations. The removal of oppressive sanctions has always been the priority agenda of the Iranian side, and as it has been stated many times, the exchange of messages with the other parties has continued with the aim of clearly conveying the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this field.

Hamshahri: The insolent statement of the Israeli official about the disintegration of Iran is an impossible wish

In an analysis, Hamshahri pointed out the insolent statements of a former Israeli official and said: Mordechai Kedar stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran should be divided into 6 countries. This wretched Zionist last year, while confirming the military actions of the Zionists in some neighboring countries, said that we should divide Iran into pieces. These statements are indicative of the evil intentions of the cruel enemies towards dear Iran. It is not the first time that the Zionist enemy has revealed its inner agenda, but the Islamic Republic of Iran has heard these words for more than four decades and continues its proud life stronger than ever. The Islamic Republic of Iran has been listening to nonsense words whose speakers have died for years. The desire to divide Iran, like other false desires of the past forty years, will be buried with criminals who have not been able to do anything in the face of a popular resistance movement in the Gaza Strip, and to compensate for their irreparable failures, they will kill women and children.

Shargh: Washington's game with Iran's sanctions waiver

In an article, Shargh discussed the action of the Biden government to extend the sanctions waiver on Iran and wrote: The United States again extended the sanctions waiver that allows Iraq to import electricity and gas from Iran for 120 days; but according to the White House, Iran only can use these financial resources to buy humanitarian goods. The spokesperson for the U.S. State Department clarified that according to the conditions of this waiver, "No money is allowed to be transferred to Iran". While the issue of a new waiver from U.S. sanctions for Iran is being raised to pay Baghdad's debts to Tehran, the situation of six billion dollars of Iran's blocked assets, which are now placed in Qatari bank accounts, is not yet clear, and according to reliable news and reports, Iran has not been able to use these assets. On the other hand, there is the issue of how to repay Iraq's debts. Iranian officials say that Iraq owes Iran 9 to 11 billion dollars for the purchase of gas and electricity from Iran. However, Iraq's Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhil, responded to these statements and declared that Iraq has no debt to Iran.
