Hundreds of watercraft to elevate sea travels to/from Hormozgan province
TEHRAN – As Nowruz [Persian New Year] holidays draw near, Hormozgan’s Director-General of the Ports and Maritime announced that 607 watercrafts are ready to transport passengers during the two-week holiday.
Speaking at a press conference, held on Sunday morning, Hossein Abbasnejad mentioned the number of boats, vessels, and seats in the passenger ports of the province, saying: "607 passenger vessels have been active to transport 13,728 tourists and 1,892 vehicles in the spring holidays."
The official also enumerated authorized waterways across the province, including the routes from Shahid Haghani port to Qeshm, Hormuz, and Larak and vice versa.
Regarding international connections, he outlined that the routes from Bahonar and Lengeh ports to the UAE are active ones aimed at facilitating maritime travel.
Abbasnejad counted ensuring maritime safety, providing proper services at entry and exit points, preventing accidents and incidents, and responding quickly to emergencies as the main duties of the Ports Organization in implementing the plan for the upcoming Nowruz maritime trips.
He noted that the Nowruz travel facilitation plan started on March 15 and will continue until April 3.
“Representatives of the ports of the province are present at official entry points around the clock,” the official stated.
Abbasnejad also announced that 43 newly activated passenger vessels with a capacity of 4,707 people along with 46 special landing crafts for transporting 1,892 vehicles are part of the plan's implementation to cater to holidaymakers in the best possible way.
It’s noteworthy that more than four million holidaymakers visited Hormozgan province in the course of previous Nowruz holidays, which brings to light how momentous it is to organize travel.
The southern province offers a diverse range of tourist attractions, making it a popular destination for travelers. The province's stunning coastline along the Persian Gulf is dotted with pristine beaches and picturesque islands like Hormoz and Qeshm.
It is said that Hormozgan's vibrant culture, traditional markets, and delicious cuisine provide visitors with an authentic taste of Iranian hospitality.
