Commander highlights military museums' role in displaying defense equipment evolution
TEHRAN - Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Deputy Chief of the Army for Coordination, has emphasized the significant role of museums, stating that they serve as platforms showcasing the evolution of defense equipment.
After an eight-year closure, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari officially reopened the Military Museum located in Saadabad Palace.
During the reopening ceremony, Admiral Sayyari emphasized the pivotal role of museums, describing them as repositories of a nation's history, culture, and civilization.
Highlighting the display of the development of defense equipment, Admiral Sayyari mentioned that the Military Museum exhibits various military attire, equipment, tools, and weaponry dating back to the Achaemenid period (550–330 B.C.). He noted that approximately 40,000 weapons, alongside gifts presented to the country's officials throughout history, are on public display.
"The Military Museum illustrates the evolution of weapons and equipment used throughout different historical periods, reflecting advancements in science and knowledge, as well as military ingenuity," stated the admiral.
He emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation about the history of warfare, weaponry, and the means employed to safeguard the nation's values and territorial integrity.
In conclusion, Admiral Sayyari underscored the commendable efforts of defense museums in Iran in curating appropriate exhibits that preserve the values of the Sacred Defense. He emphasized the necessity of representing and elucidating the epics and sacrifices of Islamic fighters within military museums.
