TEHRAN PAPERS

Authority brings respect

March 13, 2024 - 19:55

TEHRAN - In a note, Kayhan addressed the end of the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors meeting without issuing a resolution against Iran's nuclear program and wrote: In the past few days, the Agency's meetings ended without issuing a resolution against our country's nuclear program, despite all the claims, propaganda and threats of Western countries.

This is the fifth consecutive round that attempts to revive the securitization project of Iran's nuclear file in the Council of Governors have failed. This behavior of the Agency was not the result of the implementation of the JCPOA and the type of Iran's interaction with FATF because foreign policy has changed since the beginning of the 13th government and "begging diplomacy" has given its place to "authoritative and dignified diplomacy". In addition, Iran refused to go under the coercive orders of FATF to become a member, and Iran did not join this organization. This authoritative and dignified action of Iran had a special message for America and the European troika, and finally, the Atomic Energy Agency accepted Iran's decision without any opposition.

Shargh: European Union demand for new sanctions against Iran

Shargh wrote in an analysis: European leaders will ask High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and the European Commission to prepare more sanctions against Belarus, North Korea, and Iran. They claim that Tehran may supply ballistic missiles to Russia. But recently, Kyrylo Budanov, the Ukrainian military leader, has denied Western claims about the transfer of long-range missiles from Iran to Russia for use in the Ukrainian war. Earlier, Iran denied Western claims of delivering drones and missiles to Russia for use in the Ukraine war. Iran has repeatedly emphasized that, unlike the West, which clearly engages in military intervention in the Ukraine war, has not supported any of the parties and does not consider war as a solution to this conflict, and is ready to mediate between the parties to reach a peaceful solution. John Kirby, the spokesman of the American National Security Council, also admitted that Washington has not succeeded in confirming the transfer of ballistic missiles from Tehran to Moscow.

Etemad: The end of security crises with the political will of the parties

In an article, Etemad dealt with the annual report of the American intelligence community about Iran and said: By publishing its annual report on what it calls international threats, the American intelligence community made claims about Iran's nuclear activities and its role in the region. This institution claims that Iran is not currently seeking to produce weapons to build a testable nuclear weapon. After years of U.S. disloyalty on the JCPOA issue, Joe Biden's administration resumed indirect negotiations with Iran in Vienna with the participation of other JCPOA members to revive this agreement, and some progress was made in this agreement. However, these negotiations have been interrupted for a long time due to the raising of extra-nuclear issues by Western partners, including Iran's internal issues and the accusation thar Tehran provided military support to Moscow in the Ukraine war. However, Iran has emphasized that if the parties to the agreement show goodwill and the necessary political will, it is ready to finalize a good agreement in Vienna to cancel all sanctions, which is in line with the country's national interests.

Iran: A drill for peace and security

The fifth joint maneuver of the Maritime Security Belt 2024 between Iran, China, and Russia began with the aim of consolidating peace and security in the region and expanding multilateral cooperation among the participating countries. This maneuver will be held with the presence of the surface and flight units of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, the floating units of China and Russia, and observer representatives from the countries of Oman, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and South Africa. The maritime security of the region in recent months has been the subject of the U.S. and its European allies, who seek an excuse to increase their military presence in the region and create tension, including in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, to support the Zionist regime and its crimes in the Gaza war. In addition to strengthening maritime security, these countries seek to show their goodwill and ability to support world peace and create a maritime community with a common future. Other goals of this maneuver can point out the strengthening of the security of international maritime trade, combating piracy and maritime terrorism, humanitarian measures, exchange of information in the field of maritime rescue, and exchange of operational and tactical experiences.
