Tehran, Dushanbe agree on joint pharmaceutical production
TEHRAN –Health Minister Bahram Einollahi and his Tajik counterpart Jamaluddin Abdullahzadeh, in a meeting on Tuesday discussed ways to deepen health ties, especially on launching joint pharmaceutical production lines.
The officials met on the sidelines of the first international congress on family health, which was held in Tehran on March 5-6, the Health Ministry’s website reported.
During the meeting, Abdullahzadeh lauded Iran’s achievements in the pharmaceutical industry, calling for joint production of pharmaceutical products.
“We can also benefit from Iranian professors and experts in the field of education,” he added.
Einollahi, for his part, highlighted forming a joint working group to expand cooperation.
Exchanging professors and students, holding joint scientific conferences, and conducting research programs are among the most important topics of cooperation.

“Holding retraining courses for our specialists by Iranian professors and importing medicine and medical equipment from Iran are among our needs,” he said in a meeting with Einollahi in the city of Dushanbe.
“Currently, the medicine required by Tajikistan is supplied by 11 Iranian pharmaceutical companies,” Abdullahzadeh said, adding that the capacity of herbal and medicinal plants of Tajikistan can also be provided to Iranian pharmaceutical specialists, the Health Ministry’s website reported.
“My trip to Iran brought many experiences in the field of health, healthcare, and treatment, especially dental and laboratory equipment were worthy of attention in Iran.”
In October 2022, the officials inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand medical and health cooperation.
Einollahi stated that one of our major goals is a broad and strong relationship with the neighboring countries, especially Tajikistan, to develop practical cooperation.
