Sistan-Baluchestan gears up for Nowruz travels
TEHRAN- As preparations unfold for the Nowruz (Persian New Year) holidays countrywide, Sistan-Baluchestan seeks to host travelers in the best possible.
Speaking to CHTN, the provincial tourism deputy chief declared the readiness of 158 accommodation centers with a total capacity of more than 5000 guests to host travelers around the clock with a special focus on the Nowruz holidays.
Reza Ganjali also emphasized that in addition to official lodgings, some other accommodation facilities are expected, such as the private sector’s abodes to host holidaymakers.
Considering the convergence of Nowruz and the holy month of Ramadan, the official outlined the necessity of cooperation between related organizations to appreciate these national and religious ties.
“Recently, we held a meeting aimed to maximize accommodation capacities.”
Additionally, the president of the Hoteliers Association of Sistan-Baluchestan announced that hotels across the province have undergone infrastructure renovations in preparation for the forthcoming high season.
As mentioned by one of the municipality’s officials, to appreciate the approaching coinciding national and religious events, beautification measures have been planned to be taken.
In addition, the representative of the Education Ministry in the province outlined that approximately a thousand classes within 112 schools are devoted to hosting the holidaymakers.
Pleasant weather during Nowruz along with numerous visit-worthy sites, makes Sistan-Baluchestan a perfect destination for travelers as the countdown is started to welcome spring in Iran.
The collective province -- Sistan in the north and Baluchestan in the south -- accounts for one of the driest regions of Iran with a slight increase in rainfall from east to west and an obvious rise in humidity in the coastal regions. In ancient times, the region was a crossword between the Indus Valley and the Babylonian civilizations.
The province possesses special significance because of being located in a strategic transit location, especially Chabahar, which is the only ocean port in Iran and the best and easiest access route of the middle Asian countries to free waters.
Sistan-Baluchestan is home to several distinctive archaeological sites and natural attractions, including two UNESCO World Heritage sites, namely Shahr-e-Soukhteh (Burnt City) and the Lut Desert.
