Roscosmos points out the interest of BRICS countries in coordinating space activities
Russia's BRICS partners are interested in coordinating space activities. This was stated by Yury Borisov, Director General of The Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), in an interview with the " Pro Cosmos" portal.
"Recent meetings with colleagues from BRICS space agencies, which we held in South Africa, show that all member countries of the alliance are interested in coordinating activities and adding up all efforts in the field of space services," Borisov said.
He added that there are pilot projects to organise a satellite overview of the territories of the BRICS member states.
The head of Roscosmos noted that China is Russia's main partner in long-term space exploration projects, especially cooperation on the lunar programme. He added that Russia's competences in the field of nuclear space energy could be in demand in this project.
Answering questions about the projected Russian Orbital Station (ROS), Yuri Borisov pointed to the desire to involve partners from BRICS countries in working on this project.
"Of course, we would like not to be confined within the national framework. We want to attract our partners, primarily from BRICS countries, to develop this station. Such negotiations are underway," the Roscosmos representative said. He noted that the alliance is interested in this project.
