TEHRAN PAPERS

The new excuse of the director general of the IAEA

February 17, 2024 - 21:46

TEHRAN - In a note, the Iran newspaper reacted to Rafael Grossi's recent statements and wrote: The unveiling of Iran's nuclear projects is taking place one after the other as part of the progress of the country's peaceful nuclear industry.

But anti-Irani voices have put the deception project on the agenda. The address of the control room of this deception should be searched in the corridor of Iranophobia workshops. Simultaneous with the Gaza crisis and the nuclear threat to the Palestinians by the Zionist authorities, the anti-Iranian and Western circles in their recent statements have used the current conflicts in the Middle East as an excuse to insist on their delusional claims that Iran has acquired nuclear weapons. The recent alleged words of Grossi, the Director General of the Agency, cannot be considered independent of the will of the Western power network, which is trying to turn the nature of Iran's nuclear programs upside down. Inverting and assembling news seems to have become a prosperous profession in the market of world politics, and it seems that high-ranking Western officials, including the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, do not shy away from it.

Etemad: Iran, China and Russia's regional strategy in Afghanistan

Etemad wrote in an article: International and regional efforts and initiatives for better and more interaction with the Taliban are entering a new stage. On the one hand, America is trying to revive its role in Afghanistan in the form of the United Nations, and on the other hand, Iran, China, and Russia are trying to resolve the issue of Afghanistan in the form of initiatives and regional contacts. These three countries have important goals to advance the regional approach towards the Taliban. One of the goals of these three countries is to confront America's policies because they are worried that America will use Afghanistan to destabilize West and Central Asia. They also want to prevent the U.S. from joining the Taliban. It can be said that although Iran, China, and Russia have important strategic goals in Afghanistan, they have not been able to achieve these goals by cooperating. They must solve challenges such as competition with each other and the presence and activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and prevent American influence in this region.

Hamshahri: Westerners accuse Iran when they fail

In a commentary, Hamshahri dealt with the American claim of seizing a ship carrying advanced weapons of Iran origin and said: In order to put pressure on the Zionist regime, Yemen’s Ansarullah has attacked the maritime trade of this regime in recent weeks. This issue has caused America and some European countries, including England, to attack Yemen several times in an act of aggression. But the Western terrorist attacks on Yemen did not work and the Americans have turned to accusing Iran. The U.S. Central Command Headquarters in the Middle East (CENTCOM) on Thursday last week released a picture of some military equipment, claiming that a U.S. Coast Guard ship had seized a cargo of advanced weapons of Iranian origin from a ship that was on its way to areas controlled by Ansarullah in the Arabian Sea. This is while Iran had previously denied sending military aid to Yemen's Ansarullah. In addition, the weapons and equipment in the pictures published by the Americans have no resemblance to Iranian weapons.

Shargh: The explosion of Iranian gas pipelines was the conspiracy of Israel

In an explanation, Shargh addressed the claim of the New York Times and wrote: This newspaper claimed that Israel carried out secret attacks on two main natural gas pipelines inside Iran. Israel has long targeted military and nuclear sites inside Iran and assassinated Iranian nuclear scientists and commanders both inside and outside the country. These attacks represent a significant change in the secret war that Israel and Iran have been operating for years through air, land, sea, and cyber-attacks. According to officials and analysts, the explosion of part of Iran's energy infrastructure, which industries, factories, and millions of civilians rely on, shows the escalation of this hidden war and seems to have entered a new phase. It should be said that Israel's attack on Iran's gas pipelines is a symbolic attack that was relatively easy for Iran to repair and caused little damage to civilians, but according to Western officials, as the conflict spreads throughout the Middle East, these attacks could intensify and start new conflicts in the region.
