TEHRAN-The Persian translation of the book “Black Sheep: Stories” written by four Italian writers have been released in the Iranian book market.

Translated by Mahzad Sheikholeslami, the book has been published by Amir Kabir Publications, Mehr reported.

The four writers of the book include Igiaba Scego, 49, an Italian writer, journalist, and activist of Somalian parents; Gabriella Kuruvilla, 54, a writer, journalist, and painter born in Milan to an Indian father and Italian mother; Ingy Mubiayi, 51, an Egyptian-born Italian writer; and Laila Wadia, 58, a writer of short stories, novels, poetry, and screenplays for theater and film, who was born in India, but now lives in Trieste, Italy.

In the book, the first generation of daughters of immigrants, born or raised in Italy, talks about their divided identity, halfway between modernity and tradition, an oblique, precious, tailor-made identity.

The book includes four voices, eight stories, many cultures. It is the intersection of worlds and experiences, between integration and diversity, acceptance and rejection.
