TEHRAN - The cultural week of Hamedan will unfold from February 18 to 27 in Yerevan, Armenia's capital.

The event is orchestrated by the Cultural Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hamedan Province's Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism.

Marking the 45th anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution, aligning with the Ten-Day Fajr and Iran's National Day, the inaugural event of the cultural week in Armenia will see the presence of Mehdi Sobhani, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, along with the Director-General of Cultural Heritage from Hamedan Province. Joining them will be a delegation, officials from Armenia's tourism and cultural sectors, Iranians residing in Yerevan, and members of Armenia's cultural and artistic community.

As part of this event, an exhibition showcasing the artistic prowess and handicrafts of skilled artists from Hamedan will run from February 18 to 27. The objective is to spotlight the cultural and artistic potential of Hamedan, with artists presenting traditional crafts such as leatherwork, pottery, and carpet weaving.

The traditional music group "Ayin" from Hamedan will be a part of this cultural week, gracing various venues, including the University of Art in Armenia.

Narrative performances from the Shahnameh, the famous Persian epic, are among the diverse programs scheduled for the cultural week of Hamedan in Armenia, promising captivating stories for the audience.

Hamedan, formerly known as Ecbatana, stands as a testament to Iran's enduring historical legacy, tracing its significance through millennia. Its importance is deeply rooted in its role as an ancient capital and a cultural and administrative hub for several prominent empires.
