TEHRAN PAPERS

No end to baseless claims

February 3, 2024 - 18:45

TEHRAN - In a commentary, Kayhan discussed the claims of Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the Atomic Energy Agency, on Iran's nuclear issue and wrote: Grossi claimed that Iran is still increasing its 60% uranium enrichment reserves, but has decreased the speed of production.

Late last month, Grossi claimed that Iran is punishing the International Atomic Energy Agency for actions taken by the United States and European countries. Over the past years, Western countries led by the United States and the Zionist regime have accused Iran of pursuing military goals in its nuclear program. Iran has strongly denied these claims. Iran emphasizes that as a signatory to the NPT and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. In addition, inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency have visited Iran's nuclear facilities many times and have never found evidence that the country's peaceful nuclear energy program has been diverted toward military purposes.

Iran: Armed separatist groups speak more greedily against Iran’s territorial integrity

In an article, the Iran newspaper addressed the opposition's efforts to create insecurity in Iran. It said: Last year, after the riots subsided, the foreign-based opposition groups got in trouble. An intensification of conflicts between them also prompted each group to reveal the dependency of the other on foreign powers. In the meantime, the Kurdish separatists affiliated with the Zionist regime have increased their activities with the support of the anti-revolution media. It seems that the intensified media campaigns by separatist terrorist groups are intended to influence ethnic groups and create insecurity. These media outlets have put aside the previous approaches and, according to the signals that they receive from their masters, speak more greedily than before against the territorial integrity of Iran. And while claiming these armed groups are not separatist, they introduce them as " parties that seek people's rights"! These parties have been claiming support for people's rights over the past decades in tandem with foreigners and enemies. They have also been creating insecurity and carrying out bombing attacks in sensitive places of the country!

Javan: West angry over Iran’s progress in space technology

Javan dedicated its editorial to the Western anger over Iran's progress in the space industry. It wrote: Iran's progress in space technology presents a bitter reality for hegemonic powers that seek to hold back other countries and exploit them only as a consumer market or supplier of raw materials. The reason why Europeans are angry about the launch of satellites, which is the result of efforts, perseverance, and innovations of Iranian scientists, is not so difficult, because these achievements show the capabilities of a political system that also sets an example for other nations in the world. The world is watching that despite all the pressures and sanctions, with the efforts of youth and intellectuals and reliance on internal capacities, Iran has been able to achieve astonishing progress in the fields of space, defense, nuclear industry, nanotechnology, medicine, and stem cells. This is despite the fact that in addition to sanctions and pressures, the domineering powers used all their energy to undermine these innovations and destroy these facilities, but they could not.

Hamshahri: America's withdrawal is necessary

In a note, Hamshahri addressed the early morning attacks of the United States on the positions of what it calls "Iran-backed groups" in Iraq and Syria and wrote: An informed security source in Iran's advisory center in Syria said that the early morning attacks of the United States on Iraq and Syria are a clear violation of the sovereignty of these countries and a violation of their territorial integrity and condemned the move. Iran has condemned America's aggression and rejects the lies on which this attack was premised. This attack poses serious consequences for American forces in the region and will cause more reactions to these aggressive behaviors. The governments and nations of these two countries have not accepted and will not accept any kind of occupation or violation of their lands. Today's aggression proves that the American occupiers in both countries are acting in line with their security interests and for the benefit of the Zionist regime. These attacks entail the need for the withdrawal of American forces from the region at any cost because this country is the cause of instability and chaos in the region.
