TEHRAN – The head of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has stressed the need for positive communication between the private sector and the parliament (Majlis) saying that the consensus of the ICCIMA and Majlis is going to help speed up the resolution of problems.

Speaking in a meeting with the Chairman of the Parliament Economic Committee Mohammadreza Pour-Ebrahimi on Thursday, Samad Hassanzadeh emphasized the need to use expert opinions of the private sector to accelerate the resolution of business environment issues, the ICCIMA portal reported.

In this meeting, Pour-Ebrahimi pointed out that the ICCIMA is considered an advisor to the government’s three branches, saying: “The consensus of the parliament and the private sector in the expert meetings and the dialogue council has played a significant role in removing business obstacles and improving the conditions for economic activities, and looking at past experiences, we can continue this path with more speed and precision.”

While appreciating the support of the parliament to solve the problems of the business environment, Hassanzadeh said: “The expert body of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture is always ready to share ideas with the members of the parliament and these ideas can help solve some of the problems of the business environment that remained unsolvable for many years.”

Mohammadreza Behraman, the vice-chairman of the ICCIMA, who was also present at the meeting, also called for attention to the expert and consultative position of the Iran Chamber and said: “During the compilation and review of the seventh National Development Plan and the budget bill for the next calendar year the opinions of the private sector were not used and ICCIMA expects the parliament to consider more weight for consensus with the private sector in the future.”
