TEHRAN - Iran's police chief, Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan, has assured the public that security has been restored in Sistan and Baluchestan Province following recent terrorist attacks.

Addressing reporters on Monday, General Radan reiterated the government's commitment to bringing the perpetrators of the Rask terrorist incident to justice.

"By the grace of God and the efforts of our intelligence and security forces, we have arrested a number of individuals involved in the attack," he stated.

He further revealed that the assailants had planned to take over the police headquarters, but their plans were foiled by the unwavering resistance of the Iranian police.

Despite recent threats, General Radan emphasized that security forces have conducted a series of successful operations, resulting in the detention of more terrorists.

He concluded by highlighting the combined efforts of the police and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in maintaining peace and order in Sistan and Baluchestan.

In mid-January, Iran's Deputy Police Chief General Qassem Rezaei said that the order for the terrorist attack on the Rask police headquarters was issued from outside the country.

"In the terrorist attack that took place on the Rask police headquarters, we were facing a covert action in a way that 90% of terrorist acts are done covertly," General Rezaei said.

He added that after the attack, the immediate arrest of the terrorists was put on the agenda of the security and law enforcement forces and four of the main perpetrators of the terrorist attack were arrested through intelligence monitoring.

An assault against the police headquarters in Southeastern Iran in mid-December killed 11 police forces and injured several others. The Jaish Al-Adl terror group, which has conducted several bomb attacks and kidnappings in Southeastern Iran in recent years in a bid to disrupt the country's security, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
