Iranian Intelligence Ministry arrests ISIS ringleaders
TEHRAN- The Iranian Intelligence Ministry has arrested several ISIS terrorist group leaders, foiled a planned attack on a police station, and neutralized two terrorists.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Intelligence, these two terrorists were planning to carry out another operation in Iran.
The ministry stated that the arrested terrorist elements have been transferred to detention centers for further investigation.
"Two Takfiri terrorists, who had entered the country a few days after the criminal incident in Kerman to conduct another operation, were surrounded and killed by the Anonymous Soldiers in the Kerman Province," the ministry said.
"This operation successfully disrupted a two-stage and dangerous scenario of an attack on one of the police centers," the statement added.
Also, two very strong homemade bombs weighing 20 kilograms were seized. In addition to the bombs, 10 electric detonators, 4 simple detonators, one American MP4 machine gun with 8 magazine blades and 278 cartridges, and one Kalashnikov machine gun with 5 magazine blades and 181 cartridges, 7 grenades, 2 normal and night vision cameras, 2 wireless devices, 3 remotes, 12 meters of wire with gunpowder and electric fuses and significant amounts of other related equipment were seized.
Among those arrested was Mohammed Imran Tanveer, a key leader of the ISIS terrorist group known as Abu Imran. Tanveer, a bomb-making expert for ISIS, is a close associate of Abdullah Tajiki, another prominent terrorist element within the group.
Tanveer joined ISIS eight years ago and has operated in various countries across the region, rising to prominence within this terrorist group.
Among those apprehended is Mahtab (male), a senior ISIS element who was closely associated with Abdullah Tajiki, another prominent ISIS figure. Mahtab is currently under interrogation, providing valuable insights into the group's activities in the country.
The intelligence ministry also announced the arrest of another ISIS ringleader, highly skilled in security tactics and protection methods. This individual served as a direct contact for Abdul Hakim Tohidi, the group's commander of terrorist operations.
Furthermore, the Iranian Anonymous Soldiers have thwarted a planned terrorist attack in Mashhad, identifying and arresting an ISIS operative who was preparing the attack.
