Iran’s security will be defended with all might: MP
TEHRAN – A senior Iranian lawmaker has underlined the Islamic Republic's unwavering dedication to its people's security.
"The red line for the Islamic Republic is the security of its people. We've shown that whenever we choose, we can defend our national security at any given moment," said Vahid Jalalzadeh, the head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.
In emphasizing Iran's firm stance against terrorism, he declared that the nation has previously communicated to both regional and trans-regional countries that it will not hesitate to retaliate against terrorist attacks and invasions within its borders to safeguard its interests.
Regarding espionage activities in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region of Iraq, Jalalzadeh revealed, "We have consistently warned the Iraqi government about anti-Iran activities carried out in this region, making it clear that we will not allow anything to threaten our interests."
Referencing Iran’s missile operation against terrorist headquarters in Syria, the lawmaker stated, "We have defended our interests in the region on multiple occasions. This is neither the first nor the last time. If we perceive that terrorist groups, with the support of a country, are threatening our interests, we will reciprocate the threat."
