TEHRAN – A member of Iranian Parliament has strongly criticized recent U.S. and UK attacks on Yemen, highlighting the potential harm of increased American interference in the region.

Mohammad Saleh Jokar, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Parliament, condemned the recent U.S. and UK assaults on Yemen, labeling their attacks as violation of international law.

On Friday, the U.S. and UK have launched a series of strikes on Yemen against the Yemeni Resistance movement Ansarullah, who have been targeting Israeli-associated ships in the Red Sea. Ansarullah has repeatedly declared their intention of only targeting the vessels that help the Zionist regime in their massacre of innocent Palestinians.

The Yemeni Resistance has described Friday’s attacks as “barbaric.”

Expressing concerns over the ongoing conflict in the region, especially the onslaught of the Palestinian people, Jokar predicted strong retaliation from the Ansarullah movement.

The lawmaker contested the belief that recent U.S. actions has weakened Ansarullah, asserting that the U.S. underestimates the group’s strength and resilience.

Warning against heightened U.S. interference, Jokar suggested that this could lead to detrimental consequences for the U.S., expanding the conflict's scope and endangering American interests in the region.

He argued that the U.S. and UK's disregard for international law has yielded no positive results, citing the unsuccessful interventions in Yemen over the past seven years, resulting in significant costs without meaningful achievements.

Jokar called for international organizations, especially the United Nations, to intervene and voice objections against these unlawful acts.

Furthermore, he criticized U.S. claims of promoting stability in the region, emphasizing the need to address the disruptive influence of the oppressive Zionist regime for regional peace.
