100 Chilean lawyers demand an arrest warrant against Netanyahu
100 Chilean lawyers, most of whom are of Palestinian origin, filed a complaint before the International Criminal Court regarding the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, namely genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, which violate the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.
"We have complied in accordance with the Rome Statute, and we have received the concerns and requests of nearly 100 Chilean colleagues who conducted the relevant consultations, to direct a petition before the International Criminal Court, and its review will begin as of next Monday," Wafa quoted lawyer Juan Carlos Manriquez as saying.
Among the lawyers are members of the Chilean Senate Francisco Chahuan, Jimena Rincon, Paulina Vodanovic, Iván Moreira, Sergio Gahona and Alfonso de Uresti, who uphold the complaint filed showing disproportionate Israeli retaliation against the elderly, women, children and the sick, without a logical basis, or A moral limit, by committing serious and deliberate human rights violations against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, in a clear and systematic premeditation of genocidal war, and their forced migration.
Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Francisco Shahwan said: “Here they are demanding that Netanyahu bear criminal responsibilities, to impose an immediate ceasefire.”
The complainants, who constitute the largest Palestinian community in the world outside the Palestinian territories, demand the issuance of an arrest warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu and other agents and soldiers responsible for these crimes.
According to alquds.com, the International Criminal Court will begin its review from Monday. The charges include “war crimes, crimes against humanity in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949”.
