Rarely seen photos of General Soleimani on view at Tehran exhibition
TEHRAN- A collection of rarely seen photos depicting the life of martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani, from his youth and presence in the Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq 1980-1988 war) to the moment of his martyrdom and subsequent funeral processions in cities and villages is on display in an exhibition at Tehran’s Home Gallery.
Entitled “Unseen; Less Seen Photos of Sacred Defense to Martyrdom of Qassem Soleimani," the exhibit has been organized by Iran Photographers House in collaboration with Tehran’s Art Bureau, Mehr reported on Wednesday.
This exhibition features 40 photos taken by 20 photographers, capturing various aspects from the Sacred Defense to the martyrdom of Qassem Soleimani, displayed on the walls of Home Gallery in sizes of 50×70cm, 100×150cm, and 100×70cm, the report added.
Within the collection of showcased photographs, several capture heartwarming moments depicting the commander's genuine compassion towards children, his unwavering dedication to the Supreme Leader, a profound prayer held amidst the chaotic turmoil of war, and a captivating smile that lingers in one's memory.
Mehdi Taheri, one of the participating photographers, expressed his thoughts about his work, saying: "For artists in the visual arts field, an image holds a special essence; therefore, they seek to incorporate the highest meanings and values in their artwork by focusing on individuals such as Qassem Soleimani, who have changed horizons."
He emphasized the importance and value of light for a photographer, stating: "The photo of mine exhibited in this gallery is illuminated by a significant source of light, which is the main reason behind its prominence. I hope this exhibition will capture the attention of viewers and visitors."
"The most distinguishing feature of this exhibition is the diversity of its photos, which cover multiple historical periods and present various angles of Hajj Qassem Soleimani," he mentioned.
The photo exhibition will be running until January 26.
