Iran CP football third in world ranking
TEHRAN – Iran are third in the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football (IFCPF) world ranking.
Team Melli sit third with 61.08 points.
Ukraine (64) and Brazil (61.20) are second and third in the ranking.
A team’s total number of points, from tournaments held within the current quadrennial (four years), are determined by adding the highest number of points gained from an eligible tournament/level of development in each year.
If a country holds National Championships, but in the same year compete in the IFCPF World Championships, only the points gained in the IFCPF World Championships would be used in that year because they would be greater than those gained from holding National Championships.
Cerebral Palsy Football, also called 7-a-side football or formerly Paralympic Football, is an adaptation of association football for athletes with Cerebral Palsy and other neurological disorders, including stroke and traumatic brain injury.
From 1978 to 2014, cerebral palsy football was governed by the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CPISRA). In January 2015, governance of the sport was taken over by the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football, under the umbrella of Para Football.
