Iran prepares to commemorate 4th martyrdom anni. of venerated General
TEHRAN – The press conference marking the fourth anniversary of the commemoration of the martyrdom of senior Iranian anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani has been held on Monday morning.
Led by Mojtaba Abtahi, the spokesperson for the fourth-anniversary briefing, the conference outlined detailed plans for the upcoming ceremony.
Abtahi underscored the nationwide support garnered over the past three years for General Soleimani's commemoration, showcasing internal unity and a collective sense of duty to preserve his enduring legacy. “The fourth anniversary,” as Abtahi noted, “coincides with the heroic efforts of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, intertwining the importance of Soleimani's legacy with the spirit of resistance.”
Highlighting the ongoing impact of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, a heroic battle by the people of Palestine now in its seventy-third day, Abtahi emphasized its significance in showcasing the resilience of the Palestinian people to the world.
“Soleimani's legacy continues to inspire global movements, with people across various nations chanting slogans for the freedom of Palestine. Soleimani's name has become a potent symbol, even prompting protests in front of the White House in the United States. A new message has spread globally – the name and legacy of Soleimani persistently inspire,” Abtahi commented.
Ismail Haniyeh, representing the people of Palestine, attended Soleimani's funeral and addressed him as the martyr of Quds. Consequently, the fourth anniversary is referred to as the 'Martyr of Quds.' The echoes of Soleimani's spirit are evident in Jabalia, Bab al-Mandab, Lebanon's borders, and Palestine.
On January 3, an event will be held in Tehran from 18:00 to 21:00 with the presence of Palestinian resistance leaders. People will gather in Valiasr Square to commemorate the influential legacy of General Soleimani. A legal dimensions session on the assassination of General Soleimani, with the participation of international jurists, is also on the agenda, reflecting the enduring impact of his contributions on a global scale.
