Iran Army officials visit flight test of Yasin jet
TEHRAN- Iranian Army Commander Abdolrahim Mousavi together with the commander of the Air Force, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, visited the flight tests of the Yasin jet trainer on Monday.
During the visit, the Head of the Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO), General Afshin Khajeh Fard, presented a report on the flight tests of the domestically-built jet trainer, saying that the Aviation Industry Organization cooperates with knowledge-based companies and the efforts of the elites of the defense industry to move at the edge of defense technologies.
He said, “After the completion of the test stages, Yasin will reach mass production.”
Earlier last week, Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiyani, visited the stages of the flight tests of the Yasin jet, underlining that the mass production of the jet trainer would start soon.
“The Ministry of Defense fully supports this jet trainer and it will soon reach mass production,” he said.
During the visit, Iran’s Defense Chief stated that Yassin's main mission was to reduce the duration and increase the quality of the pilot training process.
Improving pilot training in the mastery of different fighter planes is one of the concerns of the armed forces, according to General Ashtiyani.
He noted that the pilots who are trained with this aircraft can fly new-generation fighters, emphasizing that Yasin aircraft reduces the duration of pilot training and improves this process.
He mentioned that Yasin could use weapons with optical and thermal guidance in close air support missions.
