TEHRAN – Iranians have taken to the streets across the West Asian country again to slam Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Gaza, as the number of civilian deaths in the regime’s bombing campaign topped 18,000.

People of Iran have strongly condemned Israeli attacks on the besieged territory since the regime’s latest round of onslaughts began on October 7.

Protesters rallied in large numbers across Iran including in the cities of Tehran, Amol, Mashhad, Qom, Esfahan, and Khorramabad. Demonstrators held placards reading “Death to Israel” and “Free Palestine” as they slammed international inaction against Israel’s relentless crimes. People also called for an immediate ceasefire, stressing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Apart from the tens of thousands of dead civilians, at least 50,000 Gazans have been injured during Israeli attacks on homes, schools, hospitals, places of worship, and refugee camps.

The United Nations has warned that there are no safe zones in the Palestinian territory, adding that every person in Gaza is currently “going hungry” due to a full siege by the regime.

Reports show that apart from deadly airstrikes, the regime has committed horrendous crimes during its ground offensive into Gaza. Images of civilians stripped naked in a humiliating act, and women and children murdered execution style have shocked masses across the world.

Despite growing calls for a ceasefire to save civilian lives in Gaza, the U.S. and many of its Western allies have been backing the regime in its stated purpose of “eradicating Hamas” without making any concrete efforts to decrease the suffering of the Palestinians.
