TEHRAN – Iranian government is preparing a strategic plan for the industrial development of the country which will be finalized by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2024), a member of the Iranian Parliament’s Industry and Mining Committee said.

Currently, the compilation of this document is being completed and finalized by the Institute for Management and Planning Studies, Mostafa Taheri told IRNA on Thursday.

“It is expected that the compilation of this document will be completed by the end of the year and will be finally approved by the Council of Ministers or the Parliament,” the official said.

For more than 40 years, the necessity of having a roadmap or a strategic plan for Iran's industrial development has been emphasized. In spite of extensive studies in these four decades, the compilation of this strategic document and its implementation has not been realized. However, this time the Institute for Management and Planning Studies is supposed to finish the work of compiling this industrial strategic document.
