Israel inhuman conduct in Gaza reminiscent of Daesh: FM
TEHRAN- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has noted that the Israeli savagery in Gaza resembles the nature of Daesh.
Upon his arrival at the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva, on Tuesday evening, he attended the high-profile ministerial meeting on the topic of the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Rights.
The meeting was underway with the presence of a number of foreign ministers of different countries, including some Arab and Islamic countries.
During his speech, Amir Abdollahian expressed Iran’s positions and viewpoints on the situation of the Palestinian crisis and the alarming humanitarian conditions in Gaza and the West Bank as a result of the ongoing criminal attacks of the Zionist regime.
The Iranian top diplomat regarded the ruthless crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza in the last two months represent unenviably instance of war crimes and genocide as well.
Amir Abdollahian also considered effective measures to immediately stop the attacks of the Israeli regime against Gaza and spell the end to the crimes of the criminal regime in the West Bank as well as send humanitarian aid as an urgent task of the international community, the United Nations and the United Nations Security Council.
Additionally, he underscored that the failure to take immediate action to thwart the brutal attacks of the Israeli apartheid regime against the citizens in Gaza will lead to the expansion of the scope of the war beyond the current conditions in the region.
Also, other senior diplomats participating in the meeting expressed viewpoints and stances on the current Palestinian crisis and ways to end the brutal attacks of the Zionist regime against the people in Gaza and the West Bank.
Amir Abdollahian has traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, to attend a meeting of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
According to a statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Amir Abdollahian departed Tehran for Geneva on Tuesday morning and is set to give a speech at the UNHCR conference.
During his stay, he will also meet with counterparts from other nations and take part in an UN-sponsored conference on Palestine that will take place in Geneva alongside the UNHCR event.
