TEHRAN – Iran has confirmed its participation in the Souvenir Expo Turkey, marking a significant moment for cultural exchange and trade relations between various nations.

Scheduled to commence on 14 Dec. in Istanbul, the four-day expo promises to be a melting pot of diverse heritage, craftsmanship, and tradition.

The country’s pavilion, which is set to cover 80 square meters in area, will be run by the Touring and Automobile Club of Iran to showcase portions of its rich history and exquisite craft skills, reflected in its wide array of traditional souvenirs and handicrafts.

The Iranian delegation is gearing up to exhibit an impressive range of cultural treasures, including handwoven carpets, intricately designed ceramics, stunning Persian rugs, vibrant textiles, traditional clothing, and an assortment of handcrafted items that reflect the country's artistic prowess and heritage.

The event serves as a platform for Iranian artisans, craftsmen, and entrepreneurs to showcase their craftsmanship to a global audience, fostering trade partnerships and cultural exchange.

At present, a total of 13 cities and three villages in Iran have been registered by the World Council of Handicrafts as “world cities of handicrafts”. The World Crafts Council is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that was founded in 1964 to promote fellowship, foster economic development through income-generating craft-related activities, and organize exchange programs, workshops, conferences, and exhibitions.

According to organizers, the upcoming trade show will feature gift manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers from various countries who will present their latest products covering categories such as touristic gifts, souvenirs, textile products, etc.  Moreover, Souvenir Turkey 2023 will host guided tours, live demonstrations, practical workshops, competitions, and various networking hubs spread across the venue.
